White Oak Collection

White oak (Quercus Alba) is my preferred hardwood, the hardest among at least four-hundred species of oaks existing all around the world, the best timber to produce luxury furniture where dry joints and wood flames must be perfect to guarantee the best durability and aesthetical grace and elegance. I do not use varnish or synthetic protections, just natural oils or wax spread by hand. The durability of my works must be guaranteed by the quality of the timber and not by synthetic protections for a timeless beauty. I design and produce furniture only by order, and their manufacture can be exclusive, produced just once by contract if the client requests it, i.e. it will be not reproduced without the client’s permission. My works are inspired by medieval archetypes and above all from Viking Art, using for the great part of the solutions dry-joint systems without any metal such as screws or nails or bolts, and based on Square, Circle and Golden proportions to enrich the work of sacred symbolic meanings referred to Nature’s universal harmonies, to create not simple furniture and floors but still living trees in shape of arboreal architecture from which the commitments can receive back the trees’ energy, like continually hugged and protected by the magic of their forests now re-birth into the client’s home.
There is nothing more pleasant than to come back home, to open the door and to recognize our kingdom of peace, to feel to belong to it as it belongs to us. It doesn’t matter how many rooms we have or how much rich we are, what makes priceless our kingdom is the energetical feedback we receive from living it. Only when every single space we live, every furniture we touch and use, gives us a full and deep sense of peace, harmony, it feeds our soul and not only our material needs, we can say for real “I feel at home” and we can be sure the designer did a good job. Unfortunatly not everyone can say this and the great part of my clients when they ask for my works they say right the contrary “Thomas, this house is mine, but I do not feel myself at home… help me to belong to it as much as I own it”. This is why the most of times I feel like a doctor more than a designer, but maybe it is right this the essential role of a good designer, to rebalance the energies: doctors use medicines, I use wood and creativity.
